Creeping Sharia — Does It Matter to Christians?

The ever expanding Muslim presence in Western society is something that everyone has to be much aware of today if they pay any attention at all to the world in which we live. When I was a child long, long ago, Muslims were exotic creatures that only appeared in books and stories like Alibabba and the Seven Thieves.  They each wore a fez or a turban, and all rode camels between their tents in the desert. They were the “Barbary pirates” that Jefferson sent the Navy against from which the Marine hymn gets the phrase, “from the shores of Tripoli.” There were certainly no (known) Muslims in the city were I grew up in South Texas, and it was laughable to think that Muslims would ever be a ccncern in my life. But here we are, and they are a major concern.

Muslims have invaded Western society in a big way, in huge numbers coming from the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. They have come and they have brought their primitive, barbaric goal of world conquest with them, masquerading as a religion. Islam is more a political scheme for world domination than it is a religion, although it is both, tightly wrapped together. The system of rules governing this whole evil scheme is the sharia, the system of Islamic law. It provides a rule for everything, a religiously mandated command for the regulation of every act of life.

One of the ramifications of the expanding Muslim presence is their every increasing demand for the implementation of sharia in place of the national law of their host country. This is a gross violation of the sovereignty of the host country, but Muslims never respect the sovereignty of their hosts; that is fundamental to their make-up as Muslims. They do not recognize the true God who created the Heavens and the Earth, and who also divided the nations, but instead they believe that they are on a mission from their false god, Allah, to subdue the entire earth of him.

One portion of the sharia that is rapidly coming to impinge upon us all is the dietary laws of the sharia, the requirement known as halal, particularly with regard to meats and butchering. In many public venues, pork will be disappearing from the menus altogether, because pork is not allowed for Muslims. With regard to beef and lamb, it will be slaughtered according to halal standards. This means that the traditional western practice of stunning the animal before killing it in order to try to minimize pain will not be utilized, but instead the animal’s throat will be cut with a single quick slash and the animal will be allowed to quickly bleed to death. There are some indications that this may indeed by less painful to the animal than the Western method wherein it is first stunned and then killed.

Aside from the ethics of which is the more painful death for the animal (and as I said, there are some studies that indicate that the slashed throat may be less stressful), there are two areas of concern in the halal meat thrust that must concern Christians:

1) The removal of pork from the menu is contrary to our freedom as Christians. This is exactly the sort of thing that the Judaizers what to do by insisting that Jewish Law be obeyed by the early Christian Church at Galatia.

2) As the halal slaughter is about to take place, both the victim and the slaughterer are directed to be facing the Kabah in Mecca. Then the slaughterer recites the prayer:

Bismilllah, Alllahu Akbar

(In the name of Allah; Allah is the Greatest)

Then having thus dedicated the animal to the false god Allah, he cuts the animal’s throat in order to slaughter it for the meat.

Now this is clearly a problem for any Christian who remembers the several injunctions from the New Testament not to eat meat sacrificed to idols (Act 15:29, Acts 21:25, 1 Cor 8:10, Rev 2:14, Rev 2:20).

It has been reported that Campbell’s soups is now making halal soups in many of it lines, cleverly disguised by the Islamic script in the steam over the cup of soup on the label. Further, Gate Gourmet, the major supplier of food for the airlines has announced that it will be serving only halal food. We are going to be engulfed by halal food as suppliers such as this decide that it is cheaper to simply serve only halal food because no one else will object. We must object! Christians cannot eat this food, and we must step up and make our voices heard.

It sounds like you’re creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why
their is a problem in the first place

The simple answer is that there is a problem because the Word of God, the Holy Bible, tell us not to eat meat sacrificed to idols and that would include the false god Allah. That is not a problem that I made, but rather it is a problem that arises when sharia is forced upon Christians who want to follow what has been enjoined upon them by the Lord God. We don’t make the rules; God does.

My solution is simple. Avoid all vendors who provide halal meat. It is unclean because it has been sacrificed to an idol. That is not really very complicated, and one of the easiest ways to be sure you are doing this is to eat pork.
